Synopsis of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous

Darius Bowman is a dinosaur enthusiast who, after finishing a Jurassic World video game, receives an invitation to visit Camp Cretaceous, an exclusive adventure set on Isla Nublar. There he meets five other campers chosen for the same experience: Kenji, Brooklynn, Yaz, Ben and Sammy. The camp operates as a pilot program within the Jurassic World theme park, with activities designed to show how dinosaurs live and what goes on behind the scenes. The routine breaks when several species escape their habitats and the kids are left stranded, with no help from the adults. Created by Zack Stentz and streaming on Netflix, the series follows these six teenagers as they try to cross the island and find a way to get out alive.

Trivia about Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous

Spielberg did not want the series to be a "kiddie version" of the Jurassic Park films and insisted that the young characters face dangerous situations, as they do in the films.

The role of Dave was written specifically with Glen Powell in mind, who said that this allowed them to bring the character to life with "ease and fun".

Leo Birenberg's original score reuses themes from the Jurassic Park soundtrack, composed by John Williams, and from the Jurassic World soundtrack, composed by Michael Giacchino.

Colin Trevorrow set two rules for the crew: treat the dinosaurs as real animals when building a story, and avoid animating aerial shots to keep the scenes "grounded."

Trevorrow explained that the series would not include the volcanic eruption scene from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

The writers felt the B.R.A.D. units were unrealistic for the series, but after watching a Boston Dynamics video about robots, they decided to include them.

In its first week, season four was the seventh most-watched series on Netflix, with a total of 16.9 million viewing hours.

Zack Stentz conceived the series as his first created and developed television project to air, after two decades of professional career as a screenwriter.
