Addicted to one night stands or dependent on each other?

In 1996, Jamie Randall lives in Pittsburgh with no job and no plan. He gets fired from an electronics store after sleeping with his boss's girlfriend, and has to find another way to make a living. His brother Josh, who is well off, gets him an interview for a sales rep job at a pharmaceutical company. Jamie is charming and knows how to sell himself, so the company puts him in charge of promoting its drugs to local doctors. The catch is that the job demands hitting targets at any cost, and Jamie will have to prove he is good for more than just picking up women. The movie is directed by Edward Zwick and stars Jake Gyllenhaal.

Trivia about Love & Other Drugs

The movie earned 32,367,005 dollars in the United States against a budget of 30 million, and reached 70,453,003 dollars overseas.

The opening scene, in which gyllenhaal's character works at an audio and video store, was shot at the former Don Allen dealership, which had already been demolished in 2014.

A stretch of the Mon-Fayette Expressway in Washington County was used to shoot on November 15 and 16, with 40 to 50 vehicles and a helicopter.

Like Gyllenhaal, Hathaway had the final say on the nude scenes and cut five seconds in which she felt the camera lingered too long.

Pfizer, Zoloft, and Prozac are repeatedly mentioned in the movie, but director Edward Zwick has denied seeking permission to use those names.

Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal rehearsed for several weeks before filming; that work changed the story to focus on how love changes both characters, not just the male lead.

Anne Hathaway was nominated for a Golden Globe and won a Satellite Award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for this movie; Jake Gyllenhaal also received nominations at both ceremonies.

Josh Gad recalled that, during filming in Pittsburgh, she played Gyllenhaal several demo songs from the musical she was working on in a car, and that the actor warned her one of them would be too controversial.
