Synopsis of Magnum, P.I.

Thomas Sullivan Magnum, P.I. IV is a private investigator who lives in Oahu, Hawaii, in the guest house of a beachfront estate called Robin's Nest. His host, writer Robin Masters, rarely appears on screen, and only his voice is heard from time to time. According to the premise, Magnum, P.I. occupies the house in exchange for his security expertise, although the early episodes suggest there is an earlier debt between the two. Magnum, P.I. takes on all kinds of cases while driving Masters' eye-catching red 308 GTS Ferrari. On the island he is joined by Higgins, the butler and a difficult former military man, and his friends Rick and T.C., with whom he shares the investigations. The series, starring Tom Selleck, was created by Donald P. Bellisario and Glen A. Larson and airs on CBS.
