In 1958, Margaret leaves her husband, Frank, and takes her young daughter, Jane, to North Beach, in San Francisco. Her goal is to start over and raise the girl on her own. To do so, she gets a job painting illustrations at a furniture factory in the neighborhood. While making portraits at an outdoor art fair, she meets Walter Keane, a man who sells paintings of Parisian streets and makes his money in real estate. The two begin to grow close and become good friends. Directed by Tim Burton, the film follows Margaret through this new chapter. Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz star in the movie.
