L.A. Confidential

Los Angeles, 50. The police department faces turbulent times in a chaotic city, constantly shaken by scandals uncovered by the tabloid press, where everyone is chasing fame, drugs, alcohol, sex or money. Two officers with opposing personalities, however, are guided by noble principles: Bud White (Russell Crowe) gets into all kinds of trouble but cannot stand seeing a woman being mistreated. Meanwhile, Ed Exley (Guy Pearce) is a rookie who wants to "clean up" the police force of the unstoppable corruption that runs through every rank, even if it costs him the contempt of his colleagues. Each has his own duties and problems, until one night several officers turn up dead in a nightclub.
