Directed by Baltasar Kormákur and starring Mark Wahlberg, the film follows Chris Farraday, a former smuggler who leads a peaceful life in New Orleans with his wife, Kate, and their two children. Far from the world he left behind, he enjoys a calm, uneventful family routine. That calm is shattered when the couple discovers that Andy, Kate's brother, has gotten involved in drug trafficking. During a surprise inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Andy dumps the cargo into the Mississippi River, and the consequences begin to fall on the whole family. Chris realizes the problem is no longer just his brother-in-law's, and that his past may come back to claim him.
