Trivia about Roswell, New Mexico

The series is based on the Roswell High novel saga by Melinda Metz. In October 2017, The CW announced it was developing a series based on those books.

It is the second television adaptation of Melinda Metz's saga, following the WB series Roswell, which aired from 1999 to 2002.

The last main cast member to join was Karan Oberoi, who came on board as Noah Bracken on March 27, 2018.

According to the Rotten Tomatoes consensus, the series adds modern political context to its premise, but this reboot feels too much like its predecessor.

On May 12, 2022, The CW announced that season four would be the last, shortly before its planned June premiere.

The series ended with 380,000 viewers in the U.S. and a 0.1 rating among adults aged 18 to 49, its second-lowest audience of season four.

Shiri Appleby, the star of the original series, returned for season four after making a brief appearance in the season three finale; she had also directed two episodes of the reboot.

The production had planned to continue for at least one more season, but the cancellation notice allowed the writers to rewrite the ending of season four so it would work as the series finale.
