Trivia about Creature Commandos

The series was not meant to be the ideal entry point into the universe, but it was chosen because Gunn already had it written.
Each episode of the first season, except the first one, focuses on a different member of the team, in the style of the series Lost.
The animators considered modifying Doctor Phosphorus's skeleton so he could make facial expressions, but in the end they decided his lack of expression suited the character.
Unlike most Hollywood projects, the actors almost always filmed together, because the showrunners believed the energy between them had to feel real.
James Gunn confirmed that David Harbour was their first choice to play Frankenstein in the series.
The series' opening theme is a version of “Moliendo Café” by Venezuelan artist Hugo Blanco, performed by the Romani band Fanfare Ciocărlia.
Maria Bakalova was the first actress cast for the new DC Universe, and Gunn created the character of Ilana with her in mind.
“Creature Commandos” was renewed by Max for a second season on December 23, 2024, just days before the finale of the first season aired.
