Synopsis of FUBAR

Luke Brunner and his daughter Emma have spent years lying to each other about their lives. Neither knows that the other works for the CIA. When they both discover the truth, they realize they barely know each other's lives, and their superiors force them to work together on a high-stakes case with dangerous operations. Luke, however, still treats Emma like a little girl and worries excessively about her safety, while personal and family tensions build between them. Created by Nick Santora for Netflix, the series stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and blends action with comedy.

Trivia about FUBAR

During production, the series used Utap and FUBAR as working titles, and in September 2022 filming wrapped with the series now titled FUBAR.

Additional scenes were shot in Toronto, where Schwarzenegger reunited with Tom Arnold, his former co-star from True Lies.

According to Nielsen's streaming ranking, the series was the most-streamed title overall during the week of May 22 to 28, 2023.

In August 2020, Skydance Television announced an untitled spy series for Arnold Schwarzenegger, marking his television debut with a live-action script.

Netflix canceled the series in August 2025 after two seasons due to a sharp drop in viewership in the second season.

For the second season, Carrie-Anne Moss joined the cast as Greta Nelso, a former East German spy who has a romantic connection to Arnold Schwarzenegger's character.

Milan Carter said he recorded at least 50 self-tapes before choosing which one to send for his audition for FUBAR.
