Synopsis of Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years

SpongeBob is 10 years old and spends the summer at Kamp Koral, a camp run by Mr. Krabs, a single father raising his young daughter, Pearl. Alongside his friends Patrick and Sandy, SpongeBob gets to know the other campers, explores new areas and takes part in typical vacation activities. Without the campers knowing, Chef Plankton, from the Krusty Krab's rival Krusty Kanteen, runs a secret lab beneath the camp. There, his computer assistant Karen helps him build inventions meant to take over the world. The series is a prequel to SpongeBob SquarePants, developed by Vincent Waller and other creators, and streams on Paramount+.

Trivia about Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years

The idea for Kamp Koral came from the flashback scenes in the movie The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, released in 2020.
An exclusive preview of the series aired on Nickelodeon during the NFL playoff game between the Bears and the Saints.
The announcement of the series drew fan criticism after the production was confirmed following the death of Stephen Hillenburg, who had been reluctant to spin off from the original series.
The series was originally scheduled to premiere on Nickelodeon in July 2020, but on July 30, 2020, it was announced that it would go to CBS All Access, ViacomCBS's streaming service.
Season two premiered on Paramount+ on July 10, 2024, with all 13 episodes available at once in the United States and in international markets where the service is offered.
Season two kept Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller as executive producers, and production continued at Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank.
Carlos Alazraqui and Kate Higgins returned as Nobby and Narlene, two narwhal brothers who live in the forest near the camp.
The series brought the SpongeBob SquarePants adventures to 3D for the first time, with visual design by Mikros Animation to adapt the franchise to that format.
