Trivia about Land of Women

Bambú Producciones announced in August 2022 that it was developing an adaptation of Sandra Barneda's novel for Apple TV+, with Eva Longoria and Carmen Maura starring.

Santiago Cabrera, Gloria Muñoz and Victoria Bazúa had regular roles from the start of filming, and Amaury Nolasco joined in a recurring role.

From the start, the series was planned in three languages: English, Catalan and Spanish, depending on the production.

After its premiere, the series entered the platform's Top 10 in several countries, including Mexico, Costa Rica, Latvia, Bulgaria, the Bahamas and Peru.

Rotten Tomatoes reports a 90% approval rating, with an average of 6.5/10 based on 20 critic reviews.

The fictional village of La Muga was shot mainly in Garriguella, whose town square was used to recreate the tavern, the police station and the church; the scenes set in New York were filmed in Barcelona.

Santiago Cabrera practiced tongue twisters before filming to work on her Spanish accent, while Victoria Bazúa took on the challenge of acting in Castilian Spanish, a language that is not her native tongue.

Eva Longoria said the series leaves the door open for a continuation and that there are still more stories to tell about its characters, although Apple TV+ had not confirmed a second season in the sources consulted.
