Synopsis of Dracula

Dracula arrives in London posing as Alexander Grayson, an American businessman who claims he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. His true goal is to take revenge on those who ruined his life centuries ago. However, he becomes captivated by Mina Murray, a young woman who seems to be the reincarnation of his late wife. The series is a reimagining of Bram Stoker's novel, a horror drama set in the Victorian era. Jonathan Rhys Meyers stars as the lead, while Jessica De Gouw plays Mina. Created by Cole Haddon and Daniel Knauf, the series aired on NBC.

Trivia about Dracula

The series originated in February 2011 from a feature film script called Hyde, another reinvention of a monster, which made it onto the Black List.
Director Gore Verbinski turned down the project before NBC bought the pilot script on September 27.
Ahead of the premiere, NBC released an animated web series called Dracula Rising, a prequel that tells the origin story of the lead character.
Thomas Kretschmann, who plays Van Helsing, had previously played Dracula in the Italian horror film Dracula 3D, directed by 2012.
The U.S. premiere drew 5.26 million viewers and a 1.8 rating among adults aged 18 to 49, but the audience dropped to 2.96 million with a 0.9 rating in the third week.
Dracula received nominations at the People's Choice Awards for Favorite New TV Drama and at the American Society of Cinematographers Awards for Outstanding Cinematography in a One-Hour Episodic Series.
The production could have continued on another network after NBC's cancellation, but no second season or move to another platform was announced.
