Synopsis of Kyle XY

Kyle is a 16-year-old boy who suddenly appears in a forest on the outskirts of Seattle, naked and covered in a pink, viscous substance. He acts like a newborn: he cannot speak and knows nothing at all about the world he has just awakened into. The only thing that seems clear is that he is something out of the ordinary, because he has no belly button and nobody can explain it. Psychiatrist Nicole Trager decides to take him home to live with her family while they try to find out where he came from. Kyle wants to understand who he is and why he remembers nothing before that moment. It is a science fiction series created by Eric Bress and J. Mackye Gruber, aired on ABC Family and starring Matt Dallas.

Trivia about Kyle XY

Although it is set in Seattle, the series was filmed in the Vancouver area, in British Columbia, Canada, rather than in the American city.

Kyle XY was ABC Family's most-watched original series between June 2006 and July 2008, until the premiere of The Secret Life of the American Teenager overtook it.

Michael Suby wrote the theme and most of the incidental music, but none of his compositions appeared on the soundtrack album released in 2007.

In Spain, the series premiered on Sci Fi on March 14, 2007, and then the network Cuatro acquired its rights and aired the first episode on September 19 of that same year.

In 2007, the series won the Television Critics Association Award for Best Children's Program, and it also received nominations at the Teen Choice, Saturn, Artios and GLAAD Media Awards.

ABC Family canceled "Kyle XY" in February 2009 after three seasons and decided not to order a fourth, in line with the drop in viewership recorded during the third season.

The third season premiere drew 1.5 million viewers, 33% fewer than the second season premiere, and the second episode dropped to 1,426 million.

The series earned two awards and eleven nominations according to IMDb, including nominations for Matt Dallas, Jaimie Alexander and the episode "Free to Be You and Me."
