Synopsis of Everybody Loves Raymond

Ray Barone is a sports journalist from Lynbrook, on Long Island, who lives with his wife Debra, their daughter Ally and twin sons Geoffrey and Michael. Ray takes few things seriously and responds with sarcasm to almost any situation, while leaving much of the housework and childcare to Debra, who often gets angry and stressed. Across the street lives the rest of the family. Frank and Marie, Ray's parents, and his brother Robert constantly meddle in the couple's life. Created by Philip Rosenthal, the sitcom airs on CBS and stars Ray Romano. The premise centers on an Italian American family, their everyday arguments and the humor that comes from them.

«A comedy about a dad who just can't resist being irresistible.»

Trivia about Everybody Loves Raymond

Ray Romano landed development deals after a five-minute performance on Late Show with David Letterman in mid-1995.
In a tape sent to the writers, Romano said it was hard to find new material because he had to raise his twin sons, and he showed a new bit involving shaking keys.
David Letterman's involvement was limited to signing Rosenthal's contract as executive producer and asking him not to make them look bad.
Everybody Loves Raymond was the fourth sitcom starring Patricia Heaton, after Room for Two, Someone Like Me and Women of the House.
Patricia Heaton was babysitting and clipping coupons when she went to the audition, and that had her very stressed.
The title comes from a response by Richard, Romano's brother, after Ray won a CableACE Award for live comedy.
The series finale, which aired on May 16, 2005, drew 32.94 million viewers in the United States, one of the largest audiences ever for a television farewell.
The series ended after nine seasons and 210 episodes, with 69 Emmy Award nominations and 15 wins, including ten in acting categories.
