Synopsis of Anger Management

Charlie Goodson is a former minor league baseball player who, after leaving the sport, works as a therapist specializing in anger management in Los Angeles. His anger issues follow him outside the office as well. He is divorced from Jennifer, with whom he shares custody of Sam, his teenage daughter, who has obsessive-compulsive disorder. During his playing career he cheated on Jennifer repeatedly, and yet the two still see each other often for the sake of their daughter. Between sessions with patients who can't manage their rage, Charlie tries to keep his own impulses in check and to measure up as a father and as a single man. The series, created by Bruce Helford, airs on FX and stars Charlie Sheen.

Trivia about Anger Management

The premiere drew 5.74 million viewers and set a record as the most-watched sitcom premiere in the history of American cable television.

FX paid a license fee of 600,000 dollars per episode and, in June 2013, aired four of them on Fox to boost ratings for the second season.

Guest stars included Denise Richards, Lindsay Lohan, CeeLo Green and Kerri Kenney-Silver, along with guitarist Slash, who made a cameo appearance.

In Spain the series is known as Anger Management, and it also aired under the title Anger Management on Paramount Comedy.

The first season earned an average Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer score of 23%, based on 35 critic reviews.

After Selma Blair was fired, Lionsgate confirmed she would not return to the series and that a new female lead role would be created to replace her.

FX renewed the series for 90 additional episodes after the initial ten, bringing the total to 100 episodes, a count designed to make syndication easier.

The series ended with its episode number 100 on December 22, 2014, and FX did not renew it for a third season.
