Synopsis of The Love Boat

The Pacific Princess is a huge luxury ocean liner sailing the world's seas with passengers on board. Its captain, Merrill Stubing, played by Gavin MacLeod, leads a crew that includes ship's doctor Adam Bricker, waiter Isaac Washington and cruise director Julie McCoy. Each episode introduces new guests, played by guest stars, who experience romantic, dramatic or comedic adventures during the voyage. The stories usually follow a pattern: a comedic plot starring the crew, a romantic comedy and a more serious third storyline. Many revolve around a relationship that has gone wrong and seeks to reconcile before the voyage ends. Family-friendly in tone, it airs on ABC and was created by Aaron Spelling and Wilford Lloyd Baumes.
