Synopsis of Taken

Bryan Mills is a former Green Beret who must overcome a personal tragedy. His desire for revenge pushes him to make a radical change in his life and begin a career as a special intelligence operative. Clive Standen plays this younger Mills, a younger version of the character that Liam Neeson played in the Taken trilogy. Created by Alexander Cary and aired on NBC, the series follows his transformation into a CIA agent willing to do anything to find justice. Each mission draws him into a world of espionage where his pain shapes every decision.

NBC pulled the series from its schedule on April 18, 2018, and later announced that it would return on May 26, 2018.

The rest of the series was filmed in Toronto, mainly at the Cinespace Film Studios facilities on Kipling Avenue.

At the end of the first season, the series changed dramatically: only Clive Standen and Jennifer Beals stayed in the cast, while the rest of the main cast left at the same time.

Metacritic gives the series a score of 46 out of 100, based on 22 critics, which indicates "mixed or average reviews."

After the renewal, Alexander Cary left the production, and Greg Plageman became showrunner for the second season, which NBC ordered with 16 episodes.

NBC canceled the series on May 11, 2018, after two seasons, and its producers looked for another American network to continue the story.

The second season averaged roughly 2.76 million viewers and a 0.44 rating among adults aged 18 to 49, down 46% and 56% from the first.

To play the young Bryan Mills, Alexander Cary chose Clive Standen, a British actor with experience in martial arts and sword-and-shield combat.
